Introduction

2024 marked our transformative journey with significant milestones in product development, partnerships, community engagement, and technical innovation. We focused our efforts on delivering a scalable, secure, and trust-minimized infrastructure for Bitcoin, making substantial progress toward making Bitcoin programmable and interoperable.

Product and Technology

Zero Trust 2PC-MPC Cryptography

Until today, there is no decentralized, secure and efficient way to bridge or operate Bitcoin. Note: BitVM is permissioned, optimistic and not efficient.

We started our journey by researching how we can create a system that is able to operate Bitcoin without compromising on security or decentralization. Our goal was to create a system based on Zero Trust Architecture.

Zero Trust Architecture is a known security model that requires that no single party or intermediary is implicitly trusted. Instead, security is ensured through continuous authentication and verification of each transaction, without placing reliance on centralized entities or trusted intermediaries. Native presents a new solution to bring Bitcoin into DeFi securely by introducing Zero Trust Protocols (ZTPs).

Native’s Zero Trust Architecture positions Bitcoin to engage safely across blockchain networks, directly addressing the security challenges faced by bridges and wrapped tokens.

  • Existing Bitcoin bridges are inherently not Zero Trust, not even Trust Minimized (in Ethereum we can have trust minimized bridges). So everything that is using a Bitcoin bridge is not Zero Trust.
  • Bitcoin Optimistic “L2s” require a fraud proof – so an honest verifier will watch the chain and submit those. This is not a Zero Trust.

BLISS Stack

The next step was to establish a stack of protocols that will provide interoperability, liquidity services and security services based on the Zero Trust Architecture.

We established BLISS: The Bitcoin Liquidity, Interoperability, and Security Stack. It became a central part of our mission to deliver Bitcoin everywhere. We reached out to many innovative protocols that work on state of the art interoperability and security services to be part of BLISS stack. This Stack is made possible by partners such as Union (ZK-Modular Bridge), Avail (Data Availability) and Nuffle (Fast Finality).

With BLISS we can:

  • Unify liquidity and eliminate Bitcoin L2 ecosystem fragmentation.
  • Provide fast finality, which also solves delays in existing solutions like BitVM2.
  • Power Zero Trust Protocols, ensuring secure, trust-minimized transactions.

BYield — Unlocking Bitcoin’s Yield Potential

Finally, we looked at the users: Bitcoin holders. With BLISS we have immense possibilities. We want to focus on one key use case that can change the world and improve Bitcoin utility and user experience. We started BYield!

BYield is our end-user focused product, which aims to simplify the process of earning yield on Bitcoin, providing a unified dashboard for users to access diverse opportunities across Native L1, Bitcoin L2s, and other BLISS-Connected ecosystems.

Key features of BYield:

  • AI-Driven Recommendations: Tailors yield opportunities based on user preferences (e.g., risk, duration).
  • Trust-Minimized Security: Built on Zero Trust Architecture.
  • One-Click Deposits: Enables seamless Bitcoin deposits without having users to go through different wallets, bridge or wrap assets.

This product has positioned Native as a central hub for Bitcoin yield, attracting both retail and institutional participants.
